Medersa Ben Youssef, in the old medina of Marrakech, is a former Islamic college (madrasa) that was once among the biggest in North Africa. It dates from the 14th century, later expanded under Saadian rule, and has been restored. It’s an architectural and cultural gem – richly decorated, with courtyards, dorms, prayer hall, etc.
