You’ll leave Marrakech in the morning (around 8 AM), travel about 2.5-3 hours to Ouzoud (depending on traffic, road conditions). Once there, you’ll spend several hours exploring: viewing the falls from different vantage points, walking trails, maybe taking a boat ride, having lunch, relaxing or swimming if conditions allow. Then you return to Marrakech in the late afternoon/early evening. Total time for the trip is around 9-10 hours depending on stops.
Ouzoud Waterfalls (Cascades d’Ouzoud) are among Morocco’s most beloved natural sites. The falls are roughly 110 meters high, in several tiers, surrounded by lush valleys, olive orchards, almond & fig trees.
The trails around the site are well maintained. You can view the falls from above, hike down to the base, cross small streams, see small traditional mills, sit in cafes overlooking the waterfalls, and maybe swim in calm pools (when water levels are safe). Boat rides under / across the river near the base are an option for getting closer to the falls. Wild macaque monkeys roam around the trees; they are quite used to people.
The drive itself is scenic: you leave the hustle of Marrakech, pass through countryside, farmland, small villages. The route gives a nice insight into rural Moroccan life.
Season matters: in spring after rains, water flow is strong, greenery lush; in dry periods some viewpoints may have less water. Depending on weather conditions, swimming may or may not be possible.
