This 2-day safari-style tour from Marrakech to the Zagora Desert offers a compact but immersive desert experience. Ideal for travellers who want to see Morocco’s varied landscapes (mountains, valleys, Kasbahs) but have limited time. You’ll leave Marrakech, cross the Atlas Mountains, see historical sites (like Ait Ben Haddou), enjoy a desert camp stay, camel ride, and return the next day. The journey involves several hours on the road, but the highlights (sunset, starry night, sunrise) make it memorable.

If you imagine wandering out of Marrakech early in the morning, the road climbing into the High Atlas, with snow-topped peaks, valleys, Berber settlements, and dramatic scenery—it’s quite the change of pace. The landscape gradually shifts from mountain terrain to palm oases, then to the more arid, desert borders as you approach Zagora. After a long drive, the highlight comes: riding a camel at sunset into Zagora’s dunes; spending the night in a Berber desert camp under a sky full of stars; listening to drums, eating local food; then waking up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes. On the return journey, you relive the landscapes and pass through historical Kasbahs & studios, descending back into the more cultivated, green parts as evening nears. The contrast—quiet desert nights vs. lively Marrakech—is part of what makes it emotional and memorable.
